reading list ♥

 

please check out my reading list ! a lot of these blogs were very formative to me growing up during the golden age of shareblogs (a time in my life i remember so fondly--specifically 2007-2012). it's through these blogs, that i was able to form the music taste that i have now. i truly thank all the gen xers who took the time & effort to seek out records (some blindly) & ripping those records into accessible mp3s for those in my generation & generations after to enjoy. they are the real tastemakers & curators of all things independent music, who directly (& indirectly) has influenced the taste of many to this day (whether they know it or not). it is through this interest & sharing of these blogs that made it possible for a lot of these bands (who would remain obscure otherwise) to be posted on music forums, boards & file hosting sites. in time, such interest has even pushed independent record labels to remaster & re-release gems that wouldn't have seen the light of day, collecting dust in someone's record collection somewhere! so please enjoy browsing around & maybe it will make you feel nostalgic, or you'll even discover something new or forgotten. many below are defunct with dead links, but their posts / archive is still up for those eager to discover more. i'm heartbroken that even more of these blogs have been deleted altogether. some screenshots can still be accessed via wayback machine, but only to those who still remember their web address. luckily, some of these blogs are still active & keeping blogspot alive. i also hope to continue posting as well. below is my list (in alphabetical order), however i'll still be adding more, as i remember them. long live the era of personal blogs !! ~(p.s. there's also niche, non-music related blogs & wordpress blogs listed as well)~
